UNESCO and the World Bank are seeking for researchers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and UzbekistanUnder the 'Skilled Teachers, Skilled Nation' joint initiative UNESCO and the World Bank aim to support Central Asian countries in improving teacher policies through regional knowledge exchange on effective teacher policies and practices. Within the project, the Report on Teacher Professional Development in Central Asian countries will be prepared based on the analyses of the teacher policy in Central Asian countries and will identify the strengths and the gaps in the system and structure knowledge exchange to support improvements in teacher policy in Central Asia.
The researchers will undertake their tasks under the overall oversight of and coordinated inputs from UNESCO and the World Bank Education team.
The researchers will work on leading research and authoring the reports for Kazakhstan/ Kyrgyzstan/ Tajikistan/Uzbekistan (for each country individually) with the guidance of the research coordinator.
The researcher or the group of researchers should
- have expertise in teacher policy, pre- and in-service teacher professional development systems, ideally with knowledge of and experience in Central Asia country to be studied,
- have experience in authoring reports and ideally joint research reports with local researchers and government counterparts.
The report shall be prepared in English.
